The event was a recycling day. 152 people and 12 volunteers came along to see if there were any goods that other people no longer needed that could be used by them. All the goods were donated and were all available free of charge.
Many, many people brought in books, clothes, bric-a-brac, glassware, toys and kitchen items. A good home was found for a set of golf clubs, a small table, an exercise bike, soft furnishings, several suitcases, a skateboard, a folding bed, roller boots, lounge chairs and many pictures.
Approximately 1 tonne of goods were recycled by being taken by people attending, goods remaining at the end of the day passed on to other charities and larger items taken for further re-cycling. £43 was taken in donations - these will be used to help towards the cost of the event. All in all, the day was a great success.
